A Swinging Little Christmas With Jane Lynch, Tim Davis, & Kate Flannery

This show was a blast. I had never experienced a dinner-like theater performance before and it was different. I am going to focus more on the performance than the venue though.

The performance was brilliant. I laughed, sang along (masked of course), and had a blast. These three can really get you into the holiday spirit.

This trio put on a great show (and I do mean show). They performed songs, yes, but they also played with the crowd. They opened the show with a slow song and part way through Jane stopped it cause it was monotonous. Jane Lynch also had some “Sue Sylvester” like comments to her cohorts during performances; my favorite is was the on-going joke that Tim was the ‘pretty one.’

I laughed a lot during this show. Jane was so hilarious and Kate played off of it extremely well. The comedy was a great segway into each song.

Tim Davis has an incredible voice (I mean he did do the vocal arrangements on Glee); I was totally getting Frank Sinatra and ‘rat pack’ vibes from him. Jane, of course, was amazing and Kate really brought the anssemble together (both with her voice and quirkiness). Let us not forget the unsung heroes of the show; The Tony Guerroro Quintet.

The band had a great jazz sound. They really helped set the mood. They opened and closed the show nicely. They are a very talented group of musicians and made for an incredible holiday experience. All of the individuals involved really just worked so well together.

They did some great holiday classics. Their rendition of jinglebells was awesome. I also loved A Swinging Little Christmas Time (one of five original songs on their album).

It was fun, joyus, and an all around great time. I can’t wait to see Jane in future performances. If you have the chance to catch this cabaret style show I highly recommend it. In the meant time watch this and get in the holiday spirit!
