That is right I went to visit some of the Glee filming locations in New York City! It was awesome and super cool to see. I wore my Glee finest; Darren Criss Sweatshirt and ripped jeans on day 1 and Dalton Academy Jacket and William Mckinley High T-shirt on day 2!
Day 1: Bryant Park, NYC Library, and Time Square.

Bryant Park Skating rink. Any Klaine stan recognizes this gem of a location. This is the skating rink that was featured in Season 4 Episode 10 “Glee Actually.” Here is where Blain and Kurt are reunited for Christmas; they skate around and sing White Christmas together. I totally got excited about this reunion and I am sure other fans of this couple got excited too.
It had become a tradition that these two characters sing a duet during the Christmas season. So this location became significant in the Glee world as Kurt and Blaine had broken up in previous episodes. The reunion on this skating rink helped to signify the reunion of Klaine.
Side note it was super crowded but the people standing in front of me were surprisingly nice in letting me take this quick photo. It also helped that I totally geeked out and had way too much Redbull.

New York City Public Library. This wasn’t a major filming location but more of a back drop area. In Season 4 Episode 8 titled “Thanksgiving” Kurt and Rachel are discussing staying in New York for thanksgiving. You can see them walking past this building as they are talking.
Suprisingly this location was pretty close to Bryant Park. I wasn’t sure if I was going to be able to find this location as there are several Public Libraries around the city. So it was exciting to find the actual one they walk in front of so quickly.
There wasn’t that many people around so taking a photo wasn’t bad. It happened to be on my way to rockafella center; being in NYC for christmas I had to see that beautiful christmas tree.

Time Square. Yup, Time Square! This area was a filming location for several episodes of Glee. The most recognizable is from Season 2 Episode 22 titled “New York;” this was the season finale of Season 2 where the Glee Club goes to nationals! The public stairs are where the glee club congregate when they first arrive in New York. No worries, I didn’t buy any tickets to cats while I was there.

We also see Time Square in Season 4 Episode 14 titled “New New York.” Blaine takes Sam out about and they sing Best Day of My Life so Sam can get motivated to chase his dream of male modeling. I like when they meet up with the random dance crew as they are singing.
I would have loved to have taken more pictures but it was pretty crowded there. There wasn’t much space to move around and just enjoy the environment. But hey, that’s New York City; its crowded, loud, but so much fun!
Washington Square Park. Unlike Time Square there was very few people at this location. I figured it would busseling around the giant arch and the fountain. But there weren’t that many people. I was able to eat a kind bar and drink an entire gatorade with no disturbances. Similar to Time Square Washington Square Park was used in the filming of Glee in several seasons.

We see it in the same musical montage “I love New York/New York New York” in Season 2. We also see it in several times in Season 4. Brody and Rachel sit infront of it in the season 4 opener titled “The New Rachel.”
The fountain in the square is also where the Rachel Kurt reunion happened. In the Season 4 Premier Rachel has an emotional breakdown from the several change and Kurt has just landed in New York to join her in chasing their dreams of broadway and NYADA.
The fountain wasn’t running so it wasn’t the full Rachel Kurt experience but that is ok. I still took the geekiest photo ever! The fun part of this is NYU is across the street from the square; they have pretty purple flags on the buildings. It was a really fun time and I am happy I got to see the few locations. Next time I go I hope to see a few more since there were some I didn’t get to visit.
